Description: This project will revise and enhance the existing Fundamentals of Nursing Pharmacology – 1st Canadian Edition open textbook (© 2023 by Chippewa Valley Technical College; Amanda Egert; Kimberly Lee; and Manu Gill) to create a more interactive, accessible, and inclusive resource for nursing students. The updated OER will incorporate universal design principles, Canadian context, H5P activities, custom videos featuring standardized actors, and collaborative content development with students. By offering a high-quality, no-cost alternative to traditional textbooks, the revised resource will support approximately 90 TRU nursing students annually, while also serving as a valuable resource for other nursing programs seeking adaptable, open-access materials. Key components of the project include the creation of mechanism-of-action diagrams, embedded interactive learning tools, and the integration of Indigenous perspectives through consultation and a land acknowledgment. Aligned with TRU’s values of equity, accessibility, and innovation, this collaboratively developed OER will eliminate financial barriers and enhance student engagement with complex pharmacology concepts. The final resource will be widely shared as part of a faculty sabbatical project, contributing to broader open education efforts in nursing.
